THE GARDEN STATE ACADEMY VIRTUAL LEARNING BOX

Welcome to the Garden State Academy Virtual Learning Box! At Garden State Academy, we believe in a creative, encouraging and interactive teaching method. Our program focuses on a series of disciplines that build upon one another, much like a ladder. Children excel at learning when taught using real life experiences, and better retain knowledge through personal experience and analytic thinking rather than memorization.

ABOUT GARDEN STATE ACADEMY

Founded in 2013 by Master Teacher, Tracey Campbell House, Garden State Academy draws it’s inspiration from the Reggio and Montessori approaches to education. Fellow Master Teacher, Linda Pecchia, partnered with Tracey in 2016. Together they continue to grow and build Garden State Academy upon these same foundations of early childhood learning and development. Our master level staff members have extensive knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices. We guide children to scaffold on concepts that they already know and then expand their learning and understanding. Our environment provides children with tangible experiences and concrete learning. Jean Piaget once said "...and each time one prematurely teaches a child something he could have discovered for himself, that child is kept from inventing it and, consequently, from understanding it completely." Accordingly, our curriculum is based largely on students' interests and curiosities. Our children learn science, math, social studies, literacy, the arts, health & wellness, and moral values through an integrated and educated growth.

We like to think of Garden State Academy as
"Real School for Pre-School"
